Hardness test blocks Rockwell

Hardness test blocks are used both for indirect verification and for calibrating hardness testing machines, especially for daily verification. Hardness test blocks are therefore an indispensable tool for quality assurance in hardness testing to ensure correct test results.

Note: Some hardness values are outside the standardised permissible range of application of DIN EN ISO 6508-3 and therefore only receive a manufacturer’s test certificate. Other ASTM methods are available on request.
Advantages

In-house production – Made in Germany

Our hardness test blocks benefit daily from our growing experience of in-house production. We stand for very good quality.

Calibrated according to DIN EN ISO / ASTM with traceable DAkkS calibration certificate

All hardness test blocks are issued with calibration certificates by accredited laboratories in accordance with the currently valid DIN EN ISO and ASTM standards.

Fast availability

The majority of our hardness test blocks are available within a few working days or even from stock.

Homogeneous test surface

The quality of our specially produced hardness test blocks is characterised by a homogeneous test surface.

Optionally with laser grid

We will be happy to engrave a standard-compliant laser grid for better positioning of your indentations and to maintain the distances between them.

Optionally multi-calibrated

Our sales team can also advise you on multiple calibrations for your hardness test blocks.

Square test surface

The larger test surface and the given shape lead to an advantage over round plates and can be used more easily for the automation of periodic tests.

Tools

You can download an Excel calculation tool from our website to calculate the systematic measurement deviation and repeatability.

Interesting facts

Why do you need hardness test blocks?

Every day that your testing machine is used, the machine must first be verified. This must be carried out for each hardness test method used using hardness test blocks. At least one hardness test block must be selected for each hardness test method. It is recommended to select the hardness test block with a hardness value as close as possible to the hardness values of the test piece to be tested. At least two indentations must be made on each hardness test block, for which the systematic measurement error and the repeatability of the results must be calculated. If the systematic error of measurement and the repeatability are within the permissible limits, the testing machine may be considered satisfactory.

The DIN EN ISO standard recommends that the validity of the calibration of hardness test blocks made of steel should not exceed 5 years and those made of aluminium should not exceed 2-3 years. We will be happy to provide you with a quotation.
